Nothing ever comes quick, easy, or even cheap in this world, so you’ll have to put a little in to get a lot back out.
To get a house in Vernworth, you’ll need to progress a little ways through the main story that takes place there. After fulfilling enough of Captain Brant’s requests, you should be able to start the process by heading to the eastern cluster of houses just before you enter the Slums.
Here, you’ll bump into a woman who’ll ask if you can look after her home while she’s away for a week. Agree, and you’ll be able to use it like a free inn for a week. She’ll ask you to sleep there the whole time, but you only need to stay the once — if that.
At the end of the seven-day period, the quest log will update to let you know that she’s home. Talk to her in the courtyard around her place again and she’ll admit that she wants to move to her holiday destination.
To help with the moving costs, she’ll offer to sell you the house for 20,000 gold. Agree, and the house is yours for good.
What can you do in a Dragon’s Dogma 2 home?
Having your own home in Dragon’s Dogma 2 means having a place to sleep to regain lost HP, change the time, and get items from those who hire your Main Pawn. It even had a storage box, making it just as handy as an inn.
Quest givers can even leave presents hanging on the wall to the right of your door. These can include powerful weapons and armour. Captain Brant might even leave these here as you complete quests during the seven-day period before you buy the house.
