Kazunori Yamauchi says a ‘big’ Gran Turismo 7 update is coming next week
7 new cars will be added as part of the update
A “big,” update for Gran Turismo 7 is coming next week.
That’s according to series producer Kazunori Yamauchi, who has posted his traditional pre-update silhouette image to Twitter.
No specific day was given for the update, which will feature seven new cars. It’s unclear if any new tracks or track variants will also be included.
According to Gran Turismo data miner Nenkai, the cars featured in the silhouettes are:
Lexus LFA ’10
Dodge Challenger SRT Demon ’18
NISMO 400R ’96
Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5 – 16 Evolution II ’91
Dodge Charger RT 426 Street Hemi ’68
Porsche 911 (992) GT3 RS ’22
Tesla Motors Model 3 Performance ’23
Earlier this year, the Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 ’18 featured prominently in the Gran Turismo film was added to the game.
The movie, which was released in August, is based on the true story of Jann Mardenborough, who won the GT Academy esports tournament in 2011 and is now a professional racer competing in the Japanese Super GT series.
It’s directed by Neill Blomkamp (Demonic, Chappie, Elysium, District 9) from a script written by Jason Hall (American Sniper) and Zach Baylin (King Richard).
It stars Orlando Bloom, David Harbour, Djimon Hounsou, Geri Horner, and Archie Madekwe as Mardenborough.
