The Life is Strange Remastered Collection has been delayed to 2022.

The Remastered Collection was previously scheduled to be released later this year following the arrival of the latest game in the series, Life is Strange: True Colors, which launches on September 10.

In an update on Wednesday, the game’s development team said the Life is Strange: Wavelengths DLC, a bonus episode starring Steph Gingrich that’s included with the Deluxe and Ultimate editions of True Colors, will be released on September 30, with a first look trailer coming tomorrow.

“However, due to the ongoing challenges of the worldwide pandemic, we want to alleviate any additional pressure on the Life is Strange team by giving more time between the release of Life is Strange: True Colors and the Life is Strange Remastered Collection,” it said.

“For this reason, we have made the difficult decision to delay the release of the Life is Strange Remastered Collection for all platforms – PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Stadia, and Switch – until early 2022.

“We hope you understand. Thank you for your patience and overwhelming support!”

The Life is Strange Remastered Collection is being developed by Deck Nine and promises to improve the visual detail of characters and environments.

It will also feature “vastly improved” character animation, according to publisher Square Enix, using full facial motion capture performances, as well as upgrades to the game engine and lighting.

The first Life is Strange was a five-part episodic game developed by Dontnod Entertainment and told the story of Max Caulfield, an 18-year-old student who realises she can reverse time when she witnesses her friend Chloe being shot.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm was a prequel developed by Deck Nine. Set three years before the original game, it sees players instead controlling Chloe as she uses her ‘Backtalk’ ability to get herself out of tricky situations.
