Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s Booster Course Wave 5 DLC launches next week

Nintendo will release Mario Kart 8 Deluxe‘s Booster Course Wave 5 DLC on July 12.
The first details on Wave 5 were revealed during a Nintendo Direct presentation in June, when it was confirmed that the DLC will include a new course called Squeaky Clean Sprint.
Nintendo said today that the DLC will also include tracks originally featured in Mario Karts Wii, Tour, Double Dash and Super Circuit, which are listed below.
Wave 5 will bring three more characters to the game too – Petey Piranha, who originally appeared in Mario Kart Double Dash, Wiggler from Mario Kart 7, and Kamek from Mario Kart Tour.
Booster Course Pass Wave 5 tracks
- Koopa Cape (Mario Kart Wii)
- Los Angeles Laps (Mario Kart Tour)
- Moonview Highway (Mario Kart Wii)
- Squeaky Clean Sprint (New)
- Athens Dash (Mario Kart Tour)
- Daisy Cruiser (Mario Kart Double Dash)

Priced at $24.99/£24.99, the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass will include 48 DLC tracks across six waves, all of which will be released by the end of 2023.
Players who subscribe to Nintendo Switch Online’s Expansion Pack receive access to the DLC as part of their subscription.
The fourth wave of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC was released in March. It included classic tracks such as DK Summit from Wii and Mario Circuit from DS.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is Switch’s best-selling game. As of March 2023, it had sold 53.79 million copies, according to Nintendo.
That puts it ahead of Animal Crossing: New Horizons (42.21m), Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (31.09m), The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (29.81m) and Pokémon Sword/Shield (25.82m).
