EA is investigating EA Sports FC 24’s game-breaking ‘calf dribble’ glitch

EA has said it’s looking into a new EA Sports FC 24 glitch which some fans have said is making the game “unplayable”.

Dubbed the “calf dribble” glitch, it sees the user essentially lock the ball to their leg via a specific input, allowing them to simply run into their opponent’s goal to score.

The exploit is being widely shared on social media, leading to a growing number of players using it to gain an unfair advantage,

Acknowledging the glitch, EA said: “We’ve added a new issue to the EASFC Tracker that we’re investigating. The ball can incorrectly stick to a dribbler’s leg as they run in some situations.”

At the time of writing, the problem hasn’t been fixed, and EA Sports FC 24’s ultra-competitive mode, Weekend League, has seen reports of players using it to completely break the game.

The Weekend League sees players play 20 matches to determine what level of rewards they will receive. When similar issues in the past have affected the series, EA has pushed the Weekend League back, but it’s chosen not to do so in this case.

The third major EA Sports FC 24 update was released last week. It addressed over 100 issues, while making various gameplay, audio and visual changes, according to EA.

“EA Sports FC 24 isn’t the huge departure that we’d hoped for,” VGC’s review of the game concluded. “While Ultimate Team devotees will likely be happy, the rest of the game feels like an afterthought in the transition away from the FIFA license.”
