Netflix has announced an animated showcase featuring numerous video game shows
The 90-minute show will include the first three episodes of Castlevania: Nocturne
Netflix has announced a showcase designed to highlight its upcoming animated shows, including some based on video game series.
Netflix Drop 01 is described as “a virtual showcase celebrating the best of Netflix’s genre animation series”, and will take place on September 27 at 9am PT / 12pm ET / 5pm BST.
The main highlight of the show will be Castlevania: Nocturne, the first three episodes of which will air during the 90-minute presentation.
Between each episode, Netflix will also show “surprise announcements and never-before-seen, sneak peek ‘drops’ from other animated series that fans are most excited about”.
Netflix says the presentation will include new looks at Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, Sonic Prime Season 3, Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix, Blue Eye Samurai, Pluto and Masters of the Universe: Revolution.
However, a promotional poster image accompanying the announcement teases some of the other shows set to be revealed.
The Capcom logo features prominently in the poster, meaning a show based on a Capcom IP will almost certainly show during the presentation.
The Crystal Dynamics and Legendary Entertainment logos also feature, suggesting the animated Tomb Raider series will make its first appearance.
Castlevania: Nocturne will release in its entirety on Netflix on September 28, and is eagerly anticipated by fans of the streaming service’s main Castlevania anime, which has enjoyed four seasons to date.
According to Netflix, “Castlevania: Nocturne follows Richter, a descendant of the Belmont family, popularised in the iconic Symphony of Night and Blood of Rondo Castlevania games”.
