Platinum brings forward closure of World of Demons by a day
Players now have until January 31 to play
CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that service had been extended. VGC regrets the error.
PlatinumGames has slightly brought forward the shutdown of its Apple Arcade title, World of Demons.
The game was due to shut down by February 1, but on its social media channels, Platinum confirmed that players now have a day less before it’s closed for good. Downloads were stopped on January 18.
World of Demons is an action game with “a magnificent visual style” inspired by Japanese ukiyo-e and sumi-e woodblock prints, similar to Capcom classic Okami, which was directed by Platinum co-founder Hideki Kamiya.
Players assume the role of the samurai Onimaru as he explores striking environments. Along the way, they’ll meet samurai allies and a number of yokai, each with their own techniques and combo possibilities.
