Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia is shutting down in February
Over 170 characters have been released for the popular mobile game
Popular mobile game Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia is shutting down in February.
As announced on the game’s official account on X (formerly Twitter) the game will no longer be playable from February 29, 2024.
“To our loyal players, It is with deep regret that we inform you that Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia will end service on February 29, 2024”, the statement reads.
“We would like to thank you for your many years of support, and hope you can enjoy playing for a little while longer.”
Several end-of-service events have also been announced in the lead-up to the game’s removal from mobile services.
Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia was developed by Square Enix and Team Ninja. It was first released in Japan in 2017 and then worldwide in 2018.
The game is a turn-based RPG, featuring characters from across the Final Fantasy series. While all characters are free, they can be improved via in-game currency.
By the end of Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia, there will have been 179 characters from across the Final Fantasy franchise released for the game.
In June 2022, Square announced that Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia had passed 10 million downloads worldwide.
