Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth launch trailer released as the game hits PS5

Square Enix has published a Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth launch trailer to coincide with the game’s release today.

The second game in the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy is now available for PS5, on two discs, and will be exclusive to Sony’s console for a minimum of three months.

“Having escaped from the dystopian city of Midgar, Cloud and his friends embark on a journey to hunt down Sephiroth – a menacing figure from Cloud’s past bent on ruling the planet,” reads a description for the launch trailer, which is viewable below.

“Join the team as they travel across the vast and vibrant world filled with secrets, powerful materia, and numerous stories of the planet’s people and cultures.

“New adventures await – prepare to meet unforgettable friends and foes, sprint across grassy plains on a Chocobo, and spend hours playing the Queen’s Blood card game.”

VGC’s Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth review calls the game “an utterly massive RPG pushed to its limit”.

“Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is an excellent RPG with some of the best characters in the gaming canon,” we wrote.

“While some open-world content skirts the edges, and the game’s main narrative is left somewhat deflated, the time spent with Aerith, Tifa, and the gang makes this a hugely enjoyable road trip you’ll be playing for hundreds of hours.”
