How to get RC in Dragon’s Dogma 2
Literally generating RC in your dreams
Once you know how to get RC in Dragon’s Dogma 2, replenishing your rank of Pawns or buying up the stock of potential DLC items at the dedicated stores dotted around the world can become a non-issue.
For the most part, you’ll generate RC automatically as you play the game. Stick to the main quest and pass the time by sneaking into Sven’s Chambers and you should only start to see the need for more once you get into Battahl. But if you need more fast, here are some pointers.
How to get RC in Dragon’s Dogma 2
Being a supplementary currency in the game, there are a bunch of ways to get RC (or Rift Crystals) while you’re out earning regular gold.
Hire out your Pawn
Potentially the best way to earn RC is passively. By resting in a bed, which can be done for free with your own in-game home, your main Pawn will bring back items and RC earned while adventuring with other players.
If you have online services enabled, your Main Pawn joins the wider Pawn network. This allows other Arisen (players) to add them to their team, just like you do with theirs. Any time you rest for the night, all the rewards they’ve accumulated by being hired by other players are delivered to you – including RC.
It’s not clear what contributes to the RC they bring back – whether it’s for tasks completed, time spent in another party, or simply the hiring fee changed to the hiring player – but if you can find a reliable way to get your Pawn hired consistently, it could work in your favour.
You can find networks for this on the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Discord, or you can up your chances by having a strong (or funny) Pawn with lots of beneficial skills and traits. It’s probably the best RC farming method right now.
Open chests
RC can sometimes be found simply by opening chests. They’re a relatively rare reward, but occasionally netting 300 RC from a chest instead of yet another Draught of some description makes them worth seeking out.
Discover Forgotten Riftstones
You can also get around 30 RC a time by activating Forgotten Riftstones out in the field. These are the piles of rubble you can interact with to summon Rifts that typically house unique Pawns you can hire at a discount.
What to use RC on in Dragon’s Dogma 2
The best use for RC in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is to circumvent the need to use Gold or real money to change things like your character’s appearance, that of your Main Pawn, or their voice types.
RC can be spent in the Riftstone guilds around the main cities on unique cosmetic items and those that can be used to re-enter parts of the character creation process.
Outside of that, RC is used to hire Pawns for your party. The lower the level they are to you, the cheaper they become, with the opposite being true if they’re of a higher level.
Pawns belonging to players on your friend list are always free. Send lots of friend requests to players with high-level pawns, and you’ll be able to hire them for nothing, with their Arisen then getting RC as a result at the end of a day.
